We played it noncompetitively. Kids took turns turning over a bingo token with an animal on it. The oldest kid then helped the little ones find the matching animal on their cards. The game was over when everybody's card was full. Which, surprise, surprise happened on the same turn! That way everyone won at the same time and got a prize all together.
